The Yuka Score - Rating Our Natural Deodorants

We use Yuka, a leading scanning app for food and cosmetics with 40+ million users, to score our products and ensure that they are good for your health. They are one of the most trusted reference in the space.

Yuka has developed a scoring system for cosmetics analyzes every ingredient that goes into the product.

Our products have a minimum Yuka score of 65 points out of 100 (you can find the specific score for a product in its page).

How is the score calculated

Based on the latest scientific research, each ingredient is assigned a risk level according to its potential effects on health or the environment: endocrine disruptive, carcinogenic, allergenic, irritant or polluting. The potential risks associated with each ingredient are displayed in the application, with the relevant scientific sources.

Ingredients are classified into four risk categories:

  • Risk-free (green dot)
  • Low risk (yellow dot)
  • Moderate risk (orange dot)
  • Hazardous (red dot)

The score is based on the level of the highest-risk ingredient present in the product. If a hazardous ingredient (red) is present in the product, the score will automatically be red (lower than 25/100).

If the highest-risk ingredient is a moderate-risk ingredient (orange), the product’s score will be lower than 50/100.

The other ingredients will determine precisely which score the product receives within the defined range.
